Description
In the novel “The Shadows of the Keys” by the poet and novelist Ibrahim Nasrallah, the Palestinian appears as a mythical image of his memory, just as his memory appears as an image of the meaning of his existence. This novel spans many eras and major transformations witnessed by Palestine, and experienced by the characters in this work, extending to the extreme limits of the idea of existence, diaspora, and identification with a homeland forcibly taken away. It also explores the distance between the humanity of the rightful owner and the arrogance of the plunderer, embodied here through an exceptional confrontation between a Palestinian woman and a Zionist officer.
