The book “Palestinian Embroidery Art Guide” is the result of the joint efforts of two Palestinian visual artists: Suleiman Mansour and Nabil Anani. These efforts took several years of theoretical study, field research, drawing and planning.
The book contains a theoretical chapter as a general introduction to understanding the nature of Palestinian embroidery art, its history, development and functions. The book contains 642 veins that were transferred from Palestinian embroidery motifs found on dozens of pieces of Palestinian folk clothing.
These veins were also simplified by drawing them on square paper with extreme precision and in the colors found in the original, and the numbers of the thread colors used in each vein were given according to the French DMC company’s guide to facilitate the transmission of these veins and their use at the popular level.
The veins were also numbered and some basic information about each vein was attached, such as the name listed for the vein, its location in the embroidered piece, and the geographical area from which the vein was taken, in order to facilitate the work of those interested, researchers and students.
