I open my eyes from a nap, halfway open or less. My eyelids are still heavy, and the black cloud remains in my head, arresting my consciousness that struggles to wake up from the depths of sleep and the land of dreams. For a short moment, my self and my identity become confused, and it seems as if I am searching within myself in a disabled memory, or as if I am floating in a void without signs or evidence. I strive and strive to search for signs that guide me to myself and my surroundings… and I believe with difficulty through the black cloud that still worries my head and eyes… Ah… this is our house in Tulkarm… behind my bed is the window that overlooks the garden
