The wife of Dr. Watson’s friend comes to him asking for help. Her husband, an opium addict, has been missing for a few days. She says that he is a frequenter of a dangerous place for selling and using opium in the East End of London. Watson agrees to help her, but when he arrives at the place indicated by his friend’s wife, he finds Sherlock Holmes there too, disguised as an old man. It turns out that Holmes is trying to investigate a new case.
