Abdelmalek Benatho is a Moroccan thinker and researcher specializing in Islamic philosophy. He is a professor of philosophy at Cadi Ayyad University in Marrakech. He is known for his research on issues of Islamic philosophical thought, particularly the philosophy of Sadr al-Din al-Shirazi. His most prominent work is “The Theory of Action in Sadr al-Din al-Shirazi,” published by Al-Jamal Publications in 2016. This book is an in-depth philosophical study of the concept of “action” in al-Shirazi’s thought. In it, Benatho discusses central concepts such as “making” and “transitivity,” and their relationship to the originality of existence and progressive unity. He compares them with the ideas of Ibn Sina and Ibn Rushd in an attempt to construct a coherent conception of the theory of action. This work represents a qualitative contribution to the renewal of the study of Islamic philosophy in the contemporary Arab context, reflecting an analytical and methodological approach that combines depth and clarity.
