Abu Zayd al-Qurashi is Abu Zayd Muhammad ibn al-Khattab al-Bari al-Qurashi, also known as Abu Zayd, the author of the book Jamharat Ash’ar al-Arab (The Collection of Arab Poetry). Some historians, including Ahmad Amin, believe he died in 170 AH (170 AH). This was mentioned by Sulayman al-Bustani in his introduction to the Iliad, and by Jurji Zaydan in his book History of Arabic Literature. He made him one of the men of the third century. As for Ali Al-Hashemi, the researcher of Al-Jamhara, he says: “Thus, the internal and external evidence combine to show that Abu Zaid Muhammad bin Abi Al-Khattab Al-Qurashi was one of the men of the third century and the beginning of the fourth century, and that his death was between the years 300-310 AH, approximately as we mentioned, so his book was the product of the end of the third century or the beginning of the fourth century.
