Ahmet Davutoğlu

Ahmet Davutoğlu (born February 26, 1959) is a Turkish politician, international relations expert, former ambassador, and Prime Minister of Turkey. He served as the second chairman of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) from 2014 to 2016, succeeding Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. He was succeeded as party chairman and prime minister by Binali Yıldırım. Erdoğan appointed him Minister of Foreign Affairs in the 60th and 61st cabinets. He served as a foreign policy advisor to Abdullah Gül and Erdoğan from 2003 to 2009. He was a member of the Turkish Parliament representing Konya and a member of the AKP from 2011 to 2015. He resigned as Prime Minister on May 22, 2016.
