Amin Maalouf

Amin Maalouf (French: [ˈmaːlūf]) is a Lebanese writer and journalist born in Beirut in 1949 and currently residing in France. He has published numerous works in the fields of novels, history, poetic theater, and politics, but he is best known for his novels, some of which have been translated into approximately 40 languages.
Maalouf was elected to the Académie française, and in December 2023, he was elected Permanent Secretary of the Académie française. He has received numerous literary awards and decorations, including the Prix Goncourt, the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Cedar of Lebanon, and the French National Order of Merit.
