Amir Taj Elsir (born 1960) is a Sudanese physician and novelist. His works have gained attention in literary and critical circles and have achieved international fame, with most of them being translated into numerous languages, including English, French, and Italian. He has published numerous literary works and novels, most notably “366,” for which he won the Katara Prize for Arabic Fiction in 2015.
His novel “The Grub Hunter” was shortlisted for the 2011 Arabic Booker Prize. His novel “Flowers Eaten by Fire” was also shortlisted for the 2018 International Prize for Arabic Fiction.
