George Tarabishi (1939 – March 16, 2016) was a Syrian Arab thinker, writer, critic, and translator. He specialized in literary criticism and drew from the wellsprings of existential philosophy and psychoanalysis. He translated dozens of works, and then devoted a quarter of a century of his life to criticizing the intellectual project of Muhammad Abed al-Jabri, directing scathing criticism at him.
