Ghazi bin Abdul Rahman Al-Gosaibi (March 2, 1940 – August 15, 2010) was a Saudi poet, writer, author, diplomat, and minister. He spent his early years in the city of Al-Ahsa in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, then moved to the Bahraini capital, Manama, to pursue his education. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Law at Cairo University and a master’s degree in international relations from the University of Southern California, which he had not intended to study. He had instead wanted to study international law at other American universities. He was accepted to several universities, but due to his brother Nabil’s illness, he was forced to move to Southern California, specifically Los Angeles. He did not find the required major there, so he was forced to study international relations. He then earned a doctorate in international relations from the University of London, where his thesis was on Yemen, as he explained in his book, A Life in Administration.
