Hatim ibn Abdullah ibn Sa’d al-Ta’i al-Qahtani, Abu Adi, and Abu Safana (died 46 BC / 605 AD) is an Arab Najdi poet, the prince of the Najdi Tayy tribe. He lived in the pre-Islamic period (pre-Islamic era), in Jabal Tayy in northern Najd. He was famous for his generosity, poetry, and munificence, to the point that it was said that he was the most generous of the Arabs. He is used as an example of generosity, and it is said that he is more generous than Hatim Tayy, and he is nicknamed the Generous One of the Arabs.
Many films and series have been inspired by his life and poetry. His son, Adi bin Hatim, was one of the companions of the Prophet Muhammad, as was his daughter, Safana.
