Khaled Hosseini is an Afghan-American writer and physician. He was born on March 4, 1965, in Kabul, Afghanistan. His first novel, The Kite Runner, topped the bestseller list for four weeks. His second novel, A Thousand Splendid Suns, topped The New York Times bestseller list for 21 weeks and bestseller list for 49 weeks. Both novels have sold 38 million copies worldwide.
