Malala Yousafzai (Pashto: ملالة يوسفزہ, born July 12, 1997) is a Pakistani activist for girls’ education and the youngest ever Nobel Prize laureate. She is best known for her advocacy for human rights, particularly education and women’s rights, in the Swat Valley of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwestern Pakistan, where the Pakistani Taliban attempted to ban girls from attending school. Malala’s campaigns have since received international support.
