Mohammed Muzaffar Al-Adhami is an Iraqi researcher and academic. He is one of the most prolific researchers in modern and contemporary political history, and is internationally recognized. His studies are highly regarded by Western universities. He was born in the city of Hit in Anbar Governorate in 1943. Muhammad Muzaffar Hashim Abdul Wahab al-Adhami, his full name, was born in the city of Hit in the Ramadi District in 1943. He studied at Hit and Baghdad primary, intermediate, and preparatory schools. From a young age, he was fascinated by history. As soon as he received his middle school certificate, he enrolled in the History Department at the College of Arts at the University of Baghdad, earning a BA in History in 1965. He then earned a Master’s degree in Modern History from the College of Arts at the University of Baghdad in 1972. He earned a PhD in Modern History from the University of London in 1978. He was appointed a lecturer at the College of Arts, rising through the academic ranks until he was awarded the title of Professor on November 16, 1989. He has held important academic positions, including Dean of the College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad from 2001 to 2003. Prior to that, he was the Dean of the College of Education at Al-Mustansiriya University in 1989. He was the founder and head of the History Department at the College of Education at Al-Mustansiriya University from 1986 to 1988. He also worked as an Associate Professor of Higher Education in the History Department at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Hassan II University in Casablanca, Morocco from 1982 to 1985, a Professor of History in the History Department at Al-Mustansiriya University from 1989 to 2000, and an Assistant Professor of History at the Higher Institute for National Studies at Al-Mustansiriya University in Baghdad from 1978 to 1981. He was a member of the Executive Council of the UNESCO Silk Roads – Roads of Dialogue Project from 1988 to 1998.
