Oscar Fingal O’Flahertie Wills Wilde (16 October 1854 – 30 November 1900) was an English-Irish playwright, novelist, and poet. He wrote in a variety of styles during the 1880s, and became one of the most popular playwrights in London in the early 1890s. He is now best known for his wise sayings, novels, and the circumstances of his imprisonment, which led to his early death.
