Rooster of the Jinn, whose name is Abdul Salam bin Raghban bin Abdul Salam bin Habib bin Abdullah bin Raghban bin Mazid bin Tamim Al-Kalbi Al-Himsi, is an Arab Abbasid poet, born in the year 161 AH in the city of Homs, and died in the year 236 AH.
His poetry has reached scattered in books of literature, criticism and biographies. The critic (Ibn Wakee’ Al-Tanisi) followed it when he wrote his book (Al-Munsif fi Naqd Al-Shi’r) in which he studied Al-Mutanabbi’s poetry, and returned it to its places, and he saw that Rooster of the Jinn is one of the most important places that Al-Mutanabbi had attacked. What applies to Ibn Wakee’ applies to (Al-Sirri Al-Raffa) in his book (Al-Muhib wa Al-Mahboub) in which he discussed wine and its descriptions in poetry.
