Saud Alsanousi (born 1981) is a Kuwaiti writer and novelist, and a member of the Kuwait Writers Association. He won the sixth edition of the International Prize for Arabic Fiction in 2013 for his novel The Bamboo Stalk, which also won the State Encouragement Award in Kuwait in 2012. The novel addresses the issue of migrant workers in the Gulf states and was selected from 133 novels submitted for the award. Alsanousi has written for several Kuwaiti and Gulf newspapers and magazines, and in 2018, he joined the staff of Zahrat Al Khaleej magazine, where he publishes a weekly article.
