Taha Abdel Baqi Surur (1897-1962), a scholar of Islamic philosophy and Sufism.
An Egyptian writer and researcher, interested in investigating the history of Islamic Sufism, and wrote many books in which he studied the prominent Sufis, so his books were comprehensive, accurate and rich in their subject.
His works include: “Al-Ghazali”, “Sufi Personalities”, “From the Figures of Islamic Sufism”, “Al-Hussein bin Mansour Al-Hallaj, the Martyr of Islamic Sufism”, “Rabia Al-Adawiyya and the Spiritual Life in Islam”, “Muhyi Al-Din Ibn Arabi”, “Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah”, “Al-Sha’rani and Islamic Sufism”, “The State of the Qur’an”, “Khadija, the Wife of the Prophet”, “Gamal Abdel Nasser: A Man Who Changed the Face of History”, and “Abu Al-Qasim Al-Shabi: The Poet of Youth and Freedom”. He died in Cairo in 1962.
