Tahar Ben Jelloun (born December 1, 1944) is a French-Moroccan writer. He belongs to the second generation of Moroccan writers writing in French and has published numerous poetry, novels, and short stories. His works are characterized by folklore and the fantastic. He won the Prix Goncourt for his novel, The Holy Night.
