Description
The story revolves around the Palestinian strike of 1936. The author draws on the memoirs of those who participated in the strike, including Akram Zu’ayter, Muhammad Darwaza, and al-Sakakini, as well as the writings of the New Israeli Historians.
“In this historical novel, ‘Origin and Lineage,’ Sahar returns to the history of the Palestinian cause, in addition to the social issues prevalent among the people. She has made the al-Qahtan family the central characters of this novel. In a conservative city like Nablus, there are those who believe in the influence of tribal lineage on a person’s status. Zakia believes in this, as do her brother and her children: Wahid, Amin, and Widad.”
