Description
Among the recent research that has contributed to a revolutionary shift are studies that have addressed the mind and body, and the dynamics of the heart and mind. From the union of mind and body emanate movements and energetic waves, which are the emotions emanating from the heart. In fact, Osho’s comparison in this book lies in viewing the body and mind as two sides of the same energy. Through these two poles, this energy moves in the form of emotions, which Osho categorized as negative emotions, such as depression, anger, envy, and fear, and positive emotions, such as sadness, compassion, love, and courage. He found that we experience the positive emotions unconsciously. If we introduce awareness into them, they are transformed. Therefore, in this book, Osho does not advocate any kind of condemnation, nor any kind of repression or suppression, but rather calls for the transformation of negative emotions into positive ones. This process unfolds through what Osho termed “observation without identification, without choice, and without judgment,” leading to a state of “emptiness” where the observer remains neutral. This occurs through a process of consciousness that grows, develops, and actively brings repressed emotions to the surface, then works to transform them. Undoubtedly, this requires contemplation, and for this reason, Osho developed the technique of dynamic meditation, along with exercises that help bring repressed emotions to the surface and liberate them.
