Description
This book invites us to “live life spontaneously and embrace it.” In it, Osho, one of the most important spiritual teachers of the 20th century, discusses the necessity of believing in our own ideals and truths, rather than surrendering to the social influences that govern the world.
We live in times where trust in traditional systems and their suitability to our lives has been lost—ideologies, political and religious systems, ethics and values, family ties, and so on.
Osho argues that these institutions have used false substitutes for “belief” and “faith” as mechanisms of control over society. While true truth comes from within, religious and social institutions impose it from without.
Osho encourages us to rediscover the innate confidence we are born with, to let go of seeking trust from “others,” and to overcome the questions and doubts that plague us about belief and faith. He urges us to liberate ourselves from conditioned belief systems and preconceived notions that limit our ability to enjoy life in all its richness.
