“Take wisdom from the mouths of the insane.” Through this “Asfouriya,” Al-Qusaibi attempted to emphasize the unquestionable applicability of this saying. How could it not be, when the madman is a professor… a scientific, literary, cultural, and social encyclopedia… a circle of life whose center is the Arabistan man, revolving in the millstones of his time, displaced in an anxious Arabistan… planted in the contradictions that have bred madness… What did Al-Qusaibi, lurking behind his mad professor, want? He stirs him… teaches him phrases… and dresses him in roles to express, in his sarcastic style, tinged with pain, much of what goes on behind the scenes in this Arabistan… and to reveal the pain of that Arabistan man who has unknowingly become that wise madman… or that mad sage, and the wise man is wise… or the sane man in a state of madmen…?!!
