“Mitch, the news I’m about to tell you will shock you. You won’t want to believe it. It’s all true, and with your help, we can save you.”
Mitchell McIlder wants to succeed. He’s young, handsome, and smart. He wants it all: power, a big house, and a fast car. He’s climbing, and he wants to climb fast.
So, when he’s offered a job at the filthy-wealthy law firm of Bendini, Lambert & Locke, he can’t believe his luck. With the kind of money they’re offering him, all his dreams could come true.
But dreams come at a price. And the Foundation’s price is high—very high. As high as Mitchell’s life—unless he fights, and fights hard.
John Grisham’s The Foundation was the number one bestseller in the United States for over a year. It was made into a thrilling film in 1993. Starring: Tom Cruise, Gene Hackman, and Holly Hunter.
Gresham was born in 1955 in Arkansas, USA, the son of a construction worker. (“We didn’t have a lot of money,” he said. “But we didn’t know that.”) Gresham studied law and ran his own law firm for nine years. He was also a local politician in Mississippi. In 1984, he decided to write a novel and spent three years arriving at his office at 5 a.m. to write it. It was A Time to Kill. It didn’t sell well, but The Firm was so successful that Gresham was able to give up his law practice and focus on writing.
He lives on a farm in Oxford, Mississippi, with his wife and two children.
