Tafsir al-Jalalain is a brief interpretation of the Qur’an, written by Jalal al-Din al-Mahalli, and completed by Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti. Jalal al-Din al-Mahalli wrote the first part of it, where he began with the interpretation from Surat al-Kahf to Surat al-Nas in addition to Surat al-Fatihah, and died in 864 AH before completing the rest of the interpretation, so al-Suyuti completed it after his death, so he began with the interpretation of Surat al-Baqarah until the end of Surat al-Isra, and hence its name “Tafsir al-Jalalain”. Al-Suyuti began completing the interpretation at the beginning of the month of Ramadan in the year 870 AH and finished it on the 10th of Shawwal of the same year. It was written for him complete acceptance and was taught at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif Mosque and other scientific institutes for long periods.
