“Happiness is in your home, so don’t look for it in others’ gardens. However, we often neglect it and even look at what others have on the basis that achieving what they have is the ultimate happiness. We are no longer satisfied with what we have, but rather we always look at what others have and wish for what they have, while the miracle of happiness lies in continuing to desire what we have and preserve it instead of wasting our lives wishing for what might be the cause of our misery if we got it.” This is part of the introduction to Dr. Ibrahim Al-Faqih’s book “A Life Without Stress,” in which he reviewed the secrets of happiness. Here is an excerpt from the book: The English poet Oscar Wilde said: There are two misfortunes in life; the first is not getting what you want, and the second is getting it without enjoying it. Your happiness is within you, so why do you search for it far away and travel in search of it?! When you laugh, the world laughs with you, and when you cry; Cry alone, make your heart like the hearts of birds empty and pure, and when you lay your head on your pillow, do not hold a grudge or a grudge against anyone, and make forgiveness, tolerance and forgetting the sins of others your principle in life; live true happiness, and the writer summarized the idea of happiness when he told the story of a young man who was passionate and wanted to know the secret of happiness, and he was told that there is an old man who can show him the secret of happiness. This young man traveled to that old man to show him happiness and went to him, and when he arrived, the old man left him alone for a long time, so the young man began to get angry because of his long wait. Finally, the old man appeared and offered him tea and poured it into the cup until the cup was filled to the brim and the cup overflowed and filled the place. The old man said to him: The interview is over, the young man exploded angrily: Are you kidding me? ….., you came from a long distance and then you meet me with this doubt, and pour the tea until it is filled to the brim and runs, and then you tell me the interview is over without even hearing what I have to say? At the end of the story, the old man said to the young man: “If you want to be happy, my son, learn how to control your feelings and appreciation and always make sure that your cup is empty, for it is the key to happiness.” The book revolves around this phrase: “If you want to reach happiness, make sure that your cup is empty, and if it is full, empty it until you reach happiness.”
