Description
Solomon, the prophet and king, was distinguished by his wisdom, poetry, and proverbs, gaining immense fame among many peoples and religions. Perhaps no other figure surpasses him in renown or enduring legacy throughout history. His books hold a prominent place in the Bible among Jews and Christians. The New Testament proudly states that Jesus Christ was a descendant of Solomon and praises his wisdom. Similarly, accounts of his miracles and the abilities God bestowed upon him are found in the verses of the Holy Quran, where Solomon is placed in the rank of prophethood and described in the most exalted terms, unlike the Old Testament, which portrays him as a king who committed all the evils of humanity, including disbelief in God. After detailing Solomon’s life and comparing it with what is mentioned about him in the Abrahamic religions, we present the complete texts of his books. Reading them reveals the eloquence of his proverbs, the beauty of his language, the subtlety of his expression, and his wisdom. We may be surprised by the contradictions and oddities within them, as they ascend to mystical heights and enlightened knowledge, reaching celestial horizons, before returning to their original state. To keep pace with human reality, offering timeless wisdom and parables, yet never forgetting humanity’s noblest emotion: love. Some will understand it as instinctive human love, while others will consider it a mystical, divine love. Then we will realize that the Books of Solomon are worth reading, indeed, worthy of deep contemplation, for they transcend national and religious boundaries, rising to the level of universal literature.
