Ibn al-Murtada distinguishes in his book between: the infidel sects, the book sects, and the Islamic sects.. He considers that the Islamic sects are six sects: the Shiites, which include: the Imamis, the Zaidis, the Batinis, the Khawarij, and the Mu’tazila. The Murji’ah, and he included the Jabbarah with them.
