Description
Over the many years the author spent in the company of Abd al-Karim al-Jili, the hidden facets of this great Sufi master’s personality were revealed to him. He came to know him as a Sufi poet no less significant than the renowned Sufi poet Ibn al-Farid, and as a thinker who combined philosophy and Sufism in a way that only a select few, such as the great Sheikh Muhyiddin Ibn Arabi and the Sheikh of Illumination Shihab al-Din al-Suhrawardi, could achieve.
This book is the culmination of the author’s journey with the Sufi philosopher Abd al-Karim al-Jili. It is a comprehensive reference for understanding this Sufi philosopher, or Sufi philosopher, or transcendent sage, or spiritual pole, as he is also known.
