Description
This is Charles Dickens’ second historical novel, set in London, England, and Paris, France, during the French Revolution. The novel depicts the plight of the French working class under the brutal oppression of the French aristocracy during the years leading up to the Revolution, and the brutality meted out by the revolutionaries against the aristocrats in the early years of the Revolution.
