A book that presents Al-Kindi’s ideas about philosophy and its relationship to religion and reason, while emphasizing the value of knowledge and rational contemplation.

The purpose of this book is to explain first philosophy, its topics, and the difference between it and mathematical science on the one hand, and natural science on the other hand. He explained at the beginning of the book that he wanted his knowledge to achieve the truth, and in his knowledge to work with the truth. He believes that the most honorable philosophy is the knowledge of the first truth, which is the cause of every truth. He discussed a group of researches, as he touched on the limits of philosophy, spoke about causes, reconciled philosophy and religion, and then moved on to dividing human existence into two parts: sensory existence and rational existence. He attacks Aristotle in the most dangerous opinion, which is the antiquity of the world or the eternity of things. He proved that the body is final, as well as place, time, and movement, all of which are final, with mathematical evidence. He believes that the mind is not one but many, because the mind is the totality of things. When he denies infinity and oneness from everything, he does so to end up with the One Truth, which is God Almighty.
