Description
The reader has before him a copy of the book “Al-Muwatta” by Imam Malik bin Anas Al-Asbahi, who died in the year 179 AH, narrated by Yahya bin Yahya Al-Laythi on his authority. It is a copy that was written in Malaga (Morocco) in the year 667 AH, and was compared to precious originals and heard from the scholars of Andalusia. The book was introduced by Professor Nizam Muhammad Salih Yaqubi, who described the manuscript (its edges worn), its place of origin (Malaga), and its scribe, Ali ibn Abdullah ibn Muhammad al-Umawi al-Malaqi, known as al-Mursi and al-Tiyani. He then briefly mentioned the annotations, collations, and corrections it contained, before presenting the original manuscript, which comprises 161 pages. This demonstrates the considerable effort invested in its explanation and publication, making it available to researchers, scholars, and students of the Prophetic Hadith. May God reward him abundantly.
