“Malcolm X” is a name known for its association with the Black struggle in America, which expanded horizons in the 1960s. His autobiography, written by Alex Haley, was widely read and significant among young people in the Black ghettos. Through this autobiography, the author reflected on the conditions of Black Americans at that time and Malcolm X’s struggle to end oppression and slavery. Through the translation by Leila Abu Zaid, which we have in hand, the translator adds to its importance by focusing on the Black Muslim movement in America, shedding light on this movement, which drew strength from Islam to demand human rights that had been denied to them for four centuries. However, their ignorance of Islam, which they considered a means, not an end, led them to abandon it and destroy it, harming both themselves and Islam.
