Description
This book immortalizes the words of the martyr Basil al-Araj, along with some published writings about him. The book’s title is taken from the martyr’s will and is handwritten. It contains all of the martyr’s research, articles, and writings, both published and unpublished, in addition to a biography of the martyr from his birth to his martyrdom, and a selection of writings about and to him, prefaced by a statement from the martyr’s family on the first anniversary of his death.
The martyr Basil’s writings, taken together, constitute a revolutionary political manifesto, combining a clear vision based on research and analysis with a political and ethical stance consistent with this vision. “The publication of this book is a fulfillment of our duty to future generations, preserving the legacy of our true national culture, written in the blood of martyrdom and the sweat of experience, in the face of the alliance of three cultures of falsehood: the culture of power, the culture of colonialism, and the culture of mercenary activity.” It is worth noting that the martyr Basil al-Araj was killed on March 6, 2017, following an armed clash with the occupation forces who had surrounded the house where he was holed up. This came after he had been pursued for nearly a year, detained in the Palestinian Authority’s prisons, and on hunger strike along with five of his comrades.
