Adventurer Richard Hannay has just returned from South Africa and is bored to death with his London lifestyle, until he meets a mysterious American who warns him of an assassination plot that could destabilize Europe’s fragile political stability. Despite Hannay’s skepticism, he agrees to hide in his apartment from those who claim to be hunting him and trying to kill him. One day, Hannay returns to his apartment to find the man murdered. Fearing that he will be framed for the murder, he decides to flee to his native Scotland; to escape the police and the real killers, and in an attempt to solve and prevent the assassination plot. Will Hanai escape his pursuers? And will he succeed in his efforts to uncover the plot?
