“Philosophy” has undergone various phases, causing us to forget its original essence: that philosophy is not abstract thought, but rather a “living biography.” By reminding us of this forgotten origin, Taha Abd al-Rahman sought to renew our understanding of “philosophy” and even to rekindle within us the capacity for philosophical creativity. He defined the pillars of the philosophical biography, highlighting the elements of trustworthiness and the reasons for creativity inherent within them. He then demonstrated how these philosophical pillars were not preserved in their original trustworthiness but were subjected to successive distortions by “philosophizers” themselves, a situation exacerbated by the imitation of “Islamic philosophers” by them. This prevented the emergence of a truly Islamic philosophy. Through his explanation of these successive distortions, he proved that returning to the philosophical biography necessitates reconnecting philosophy with ” Its foundations are derived from wisdom. These foundations are intrinsically linked to religion, as a methodology, and have never been separate from its tenets.
