The final chapters address the preparation of Soviet emigrants and their motivations for leaving, the issue of clandestine Jews, semi-Jews, and non-Jews who would arrive with the emigrants, the push and pull factors in both the Soviet Union and Israel, the various integration challenges, and the expected and unexpected consequences of the emigration, including the hostility of veteran Zionist settlers, particularly religious and Mizrahi Jews, towards the new arrivals.
