Dr. Al-Masiri had previously translated some of these foundational texts in a book titled &#8220;Romanticism in English Literature,&#8221; published in Cairo in 1965 as part of the &#8220;One Thousand Books&#8221; series. In this book, Al-Masiri presents a methodology for translating poetic texts and includes critical commentary on each poem individually. In this commentary, he employs the model of immanence and transcendence, exploring the internal conflict within the human self between the humanistic (divine) tendency towards transcendence and the embryonic\/natural tendency (referring to the embryo) towards unity with the material world and dissolution into it. In his analysis, he utilizes the history of ideas as an entry point for understanding the form and structure of the artwork.
