What compelled me to write this booklet was the spontaneous, belated, and disorganized Arab reaction\u2014lacking any well-considered or conscious plan\u2014to the Iranian occupation of the Gulf islands.<\/p>\n
This event has demonstrated that we, as Arabs, have yet to learn from our bitter past experiences. Once again, when faced with a critical issue of pan-Arab destiny, we have proven incapable of providing a decisive response, or even of grasping the full scope of the challenges and dangers surrounding us.<\/p>\n
It is crucial to recognize that the Iranian occupation of these small Gulf islands is not the end of the matter, but merely the beginning. The danger is far greater, more far-reaching, and more profound; this event is but one minor manifestation of a much larger issue.<\/p>\n
This brief study aims to shed light on these realities. It is my hope that this effort\u2014born from the deep personal concern of someone who belongs to the Gulf\u2014will serve as a modest first step toward a more conscious Arab engagement and effective collective action. This concerns what is arguably the most pressing Arab issue today, second only to the question of Palestine and the threat of Israeli expansion\u2014a matter that, in fact, constitutes the rear flank of our existential struggle against the Zionist enemy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
