Abu al-Fawaris Antarah ibn Shaddad ibn Qurad al-Absi (525 CE – 608 CE) was an Arab knight from Najd, a member of the Mudar tribe. He is considered one of the poets of the Mu’allaqat (the seven pre-Islamic odes) and one of the most famous poets of the pre-Islamic era. He was renowned for his chivalric poetry and his chaste love poems to his beloved Ablah. Ibn Sallam included him in the sixth rank of poets, along with those who wrote only one poem. He is one of the three Arab crows: (Antarah, whose mother was Zabibah, Khufaf ibn Umayr al-Sharidi, whose mother was Nudbah, and al-Sulayk ibn Amr al-Saadi, whose mother was Sulakah).
