Ernesto “Che” Guevara (June 14, 1928 – October 9, 1967), commonly known as Che Guevara, El Che, or simply Che (Spanish: Ernesto ‘Che’ Ernestico Guevara de la Serna), was an Argentine-born Marxist revolutionary, physician, writer, guerrilla leader, military strategist, international statesman, and a key figure in the Cuban Revolution. Since his death, his image has become a ubiquitous symbol and a global icon within popular culture.
