Jabour Douaihy (1949 – July 23, 2021) was a Lebanese novelist born in Zgharta, northern Lebanon. He has published approximately 15 literary works, including novels and short stories. His novel “The King of India” was shortlisted for the 2020 Booker Prize, and his novel “June Rain” was shortlisted for the 2016 Booker Prize. His novel “Autumn Equinox” won the Best Translated Work Award from the University of Arkansas. “The American Quarter” won the 2015 Said Akl Prize, and “The Homeless” won the 2013 Arabic Literature Award. His novels have been translated into French, English, German, Italian, Spanish, and Turkish. He has been honored several times in Lebanon and the Arab world.
