Taher Nashat Taher al-Masri (born 1942) is a former President of the Senate and has served twice as Prime Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. He was born in the Palestinian city of Nablus in 1942. His father, Nashat al-Masri, named him “Taher” in honor of his own father, Hajj Taher al-Masri. The al-Masri family is a long-established family known for its history in trade in Nablus. Taher is married and has two children (a daughter and a son). He is known by the *kunya* (agnomen) “Abu Nashat,” as he named his son after his own father, Nashat al-Masri.
