An Iraqi writer of Chaldean heritage, born in the Zakho district in 1962 and raised in Baghdad. He attended Al-Bataween Intermediate School and Al-Sharqiya Preparatory School, graduating with a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Baghdad’s College of Engineering in 1987. He emigrated to Australia in 1992. He studied at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in Melbourne, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering in 1997. He also completed a theology course at St. Joseph’s Church (The Center) in Baghdad between 1984 and 1987. He is an active member of the Iraqi community and the Christian community at large.
