Description

“No, my dear… Women today must have a will… We demand equal rights to men in society and politics, so how can we aspire to that when we don’t yet have the right to want, to declare our will, to confront men and say to them, ‘I want you as my life partner,’ just as they can say to women, ‘I want you as my partner’?”

This play revolves around Nayla, an intelligent young woman who follows the news of Professor Fouad, a lawyer, observing his stances, opinions, and political leanings. She admires his personality and aspires to marry him. She decides to approach him and ask for his hand in marriage. Meanwhile, Fouad’s professional life consumes most of his time and attention, and it never occurred to him that he would attract the attention of women, let alone this beautiful and delicate young woman. In an atmosphere of humor and suspense, we follow how Nayla plots to propose to Fouad, and how her friend fails to dissuade her from this risky move, despite acknowledging the likelihood of her plan failing. Will Fouad live up to her expectations and grant her wish?
