Description
In the Middle Ages, our vision of the City of God inspired us. Then, in the early 18th century, it was the City of Progress on Earth, and the sense of duty to understand nature in order to control it. All of this has ended up in what seems like a Tower of Babel, with the progress achieved in the Middle Ages and the 18th and 19th centuries lost. We are now in dire need of a synthesis that combines the faith of the past Middle Ages with the reason and science of the last two centuries.
This is the only way I see to escape a state of technocratic fascism.
