Description
Youssef Zeidan is an Egyptian thinker and novelist with a professorship in philosophy, history, and science. He has published more than sixty books to date, and his works have won numerous international awards, including the Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Young Arab Scientists (Jordan), the Islamic Organization for Medical Sciences Award (Kuwait), and the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences Award in the field of medical jurisprudence and the principles of manuscript editing. His most famous novel, *Azazeel*, has won several international awards, including the 2009 International Prize for Arabic Fiction (the Arabic Booker Prize), the 2012 Anubis Prize, and the 2013 Banipal Prize. Dar Al Shorouk has published a number of his works, including *The Shadow of the Serpent*, *Azazeel*, *The Nabatean*, *Mahal*, *Guantanamo*, and *Nour*. His novels have consistently topped bestseller lists since their publication.
