On rose petals, Al-Rafi’i scatters drops of the dew of love, mingled with the fragrance of his beloveds’ beauty, in the form of a collection of scattered thoughts on the philosophy of love and beauty he created. He describes one of his experiences and establishes a new chapter in his life, titled “Letters from a Lover to His Beloveds.” Al-Rafi’i indicated that he did not dedicate these letters solely to his first love, but also included his Lebanese beloved, from whose beauty he drew inspiration for the words of his book “The Moon’s Discourse.” In this work, he blends the philosophy of love with a mystical perspective on the pursuit of that love, and through it, he conveys a creative energy that embodies the eloquence of composition in describing the language of ardent love. Al-Rafi’i combines in this work the talent of a writer who crafts his feelings and emotions and deposits them in an artistic form, with the logic of a philosopher who believes that the pinnacle of logic in love lies within his intellect.
