The confusion between the concepts of Islam and faith has created much ambiguity in the structure of the traditional system, turning Islam into a racist religion whose sole purpose is to differentiate between people: this one is a believer, and that one is an unbeliever, instead of being a universal religion capable of embracing humanity and guiding it towards progress and advancement.
The author is keen to clarify the difference between the two and to dismantle a deeply entrenched problem within the traditional system, thus allowing for a more rational and humane understanding of Islam. This understanding grants Islam, as a religion, the meaning it deserves, distancing it from its politicized interpretation and restoring the credibility that traditional understandings have eroded.
The author believes that the foundation of any collective consciousness, and of any society that aspires to build a state, is freedom, which is God’s supreme word. God created people as servants, not slaves, and servitude is freedom, while slavery is enslavement. When the concept of humanity’s servitude to God is realized and manifested as the very essence of freedom, the importance of Islam becomes clear. He also believes this is the true and natural image of Islam, because it is a religion that aligns with human nature, not contradicts it, and because it came as a source of ease for humanity, not hardship as defined by jurists and defenders of an ideologically driven view of religion.
